STEFANIE DENZ: MOVING AND BUILDING IN CONNECTION
TUESDAY 21 JULY, 14:00 - 14:55
Johnson Auditorium
Aligning with this year’s focus on the social relations and the importance of collaboration in creative research, this workshop involves our physical presence and responses to each other to create momentary ways of being together. The process is based on an inside listening approach in which the felt experience leads the choreography. This offers new ways to be in interaction with each other in our bodily knowledge, a source that is key in creative research.
The following movement prompts develop spatial and body awareness and attuning to others. It is important to not predetermine the way your movements will unfold- there is no planned choreography and no wrong moves. Supported by the following guidelines we will interact with the materials we have at hand - the room, each other and props.
Finding the right distance – a two-person warmup activity using yarn. The following are for groups of 4-5 people. There is no physical touching or pressure to do anything that feels uncomfortable.
