Degree committee

ROLE

Our degree committee bridges academic and administrative boundaries to ensure the institute maintains rigorous scholarly and professional standards. The TT Degree committee members include the Dean, the Director, three faculty members, and one member from each accreditation partnership. This governing body is responsible for overseeing postgraduate researchers' academic progress, advising on programming and curriculum standards, and approving the awarding of degrees. Committee members meet three times a year, either virtually or in person at Nexus Events.

CONTRIBUTIONS

Student Oversight: Reviewing student admissions to graduate programs, academic advisors, and monitoring ongoing academic progress.

Quality Control: Reviewing and approving thesis proposals and drafts.

Degree Conferral: Supporting the nominating and appointing examiners, evaluating examination reports, and formally recommending candidates for the conferral of degrees.

Policy & Curriculum: Reviewing student-related policies and curriculum standards to meet institutional goals and ensure accreditation.

BOARD OF ADVISORS

Our Board of Advisors is a volunteer panel of faculty, staff and alumni. This board provides strategic counsel to the Director on academic programming, new initiatives, processes, and projects, offering insights from their involvement with other institutions and their research expertise to bring a fresh perspective and context for informed decision-making.

COLLEGIUM

The Collegium—made up of representative PgRs, advisors, and staff—is a forum for discussing program suggestions, ideas, and feedback. Additionally, PgR and faculty issues that arise are brought forward for resolution.
