In my PhD dissertation, I was discussing my performance projects in the framework of a particular sociocultural context in the area where I lived at particular time period, and introducing other artists from regions where there is a potential for change.
My question is how we accommodate other performance artists' contributions when we write about our own performance research. For instance, I was bringing case studies of similar nature like integrations of dance and mathematics, dance and technology in one project.
I create performances independently and collaboratively. When I work in collaborations, there is a question of how I as a leading artist in a collaborative project can find a balance between keep my aesthetic and ethic values, while giving other artists freedom of artistic utterance, and embrace them into the creation process.
I would like to present a short simplified version (10 min long) of my performance "Inside the Chain", created as my MFA final project at George Washington University. Idea and choreography/dance was mine. My key collaborators in this project were designer Anna Vozzhennikova and software engineer Denis Perevalov.
