Chandana Dixit
Chandana Dixit is a practice-based PhD researcher at Liverpool John Moores University whose work explores the nature of creativity through the lens of personal agency. Drawing on an interdisciplinary foundation that spans philosophy, psychology, the arts, and phenomenology, her research seeks to redefine creativity by arguing that agency should be recognised alongside originality and value as a fundamental principle of the creative process. Her practice integrates scholarly inquiry with lived creative experience, combining autoethnography, artistic practice, and dialogue with leading creativity researchers and practitioners.
Alongside her academic work, Chandana is an internationally recognised Bollywood playback singer, Hindustani classical vocalist, and visual artist. She has recorded numerous hit songs, including the iconic *Husn Hai Suhana* and *Sheher Ki Ladki*, and has performed on prestigious stages around the world. As an oil painter, educator, and host of the *Creativity Dialogues* podcast, she engages with scholars, artists, scientists, and innovators to explore the many dimensions of creativity. Her broader mission is to bridge theory and practice, contributing to a more human-centred understanding of creativity that supports personal growth, creative practice, and human flourishing.
