As your thesis is unique, you and your advisory team will determine the appropriate length and form based on the degree you are pursuing and the milestones outlined for your degree.
Note: Exceptionally, for the PhD by Publication/Portfolio, due to the nature of the degree and short duration, the length of the written component will be 10,000 - 12,000 words.
Your thesis will be published and archived in the Transart Institution portal of the Society of Artistic Research (SAR) Research Catalogue.
The Research Catalogue (RC) is the leading international platform for disseminating and presenting artistic research outcomes. Operated by the Society for Artistic Research, it provides an online, open-access, rich-media platform designed specifically for artistic and practice-based research and educational purposes.
RC is a free, open, and non-commercial platform for artistic research, developed by SAR to document, present, and publish knowledge created through artistic research. It hosts a vibrant community of researchers where you can create and publish multimedia expositions, collaborate, and explore projects and research. Since traditional research formats are often unsuited to artistic work, the RC offers an online environment where text, images, sound, and video can be combined in integrated expositions that reflect the unique nature of artistic research.
